On May 13th, Lee Soo-geun's agency, Big Planet Made Entertainment, announced, "We've been alerted to fraudulent activities by an individual impersonating Mr. Lee Soo-geun's manager, aiming for financial gain. We urge everyone to exercise extreme caution."
The agency further explained, "The impersonator, claiming to be affiliated with our agency, has been using forged business cards and has attempted to scam multiple restaurants in the Ulsan area by reserving expensive wines (worth approximately 4 million KRW) among other tactics. This so-called 'celebrity impersonation no-show' scam could cause significant harm to the businesses involved, constituting a serious illegal act."
In response, the agency advised, "To all our partners and the public, please be vigilant as similar attempts may continue. We are fully aware of the severity of this issue and plan to take strong legal actions, both civil and criminal, against impersonation and fraud. Your tips and cooperation are invaluable to us in preventing further damage. We ask for your continued attention and caution."
Recently, there has been a spate of incidents involving individuals impersonating employees of celebrity agencies or production staff of broadcasting companies.
