Actress Park Ji-hu shared her excitement about playing the lead role in a youth romance drama.

During the press conference for SBS's new drama 'Spring of Youth ' held at the SBS building in Mok-dong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, on the afternoon of the 28th, Park said, "After always doing disaster dramas filled with blood, sweat, and tears, it's refreshing to be in a proper youth romance."

'Spring of Youth ' is a youth music romance where Sagye, a star of the top K-pop band (played by Ha Yoo-jun), gets kicked out of the team and, through twists and turns, starts college life where he fatefully meets Kim Bom (played by Park Ji-hu) and makes a splendid comeback.

Park plays Kim Bom, a student at Hanju University's Department of Practical Music, who once dreamed of the Ivy League but became a professional part-timer after her mother's death six years ago. This marks Park Ji-hu's first foray into a youth romance drama, having previously acted in genre-specific works like 'All of Us Are Dead', 'Little Women', and 'Concrete Utopia'.

Park mentioned, "For the first time, I got to really focus on hair and makeup. Considering what to wear in spring and portraying a bright character for the first time, I pondered a lot on how to embody Bom at that age," highlighting the extra attention she paid to styling compared to her previous roles.

In particular, Kim Bom finds herself in a love triangle with Sagye, a band member who suddenly falls from grace, and Seo Tae-yang (played by Lee Seung-hyub), the long-time head of Hanju University's band club. Park joked, "Being loved by two men made the working environment blissful," and added, "I focused on how to appear more fresh and lovely in my performance."

'Spring of Youth ' is directed by Kim Sung-yong, known for his stylish direction in 'The Veil' and 'My Dearest', and produced by FNC, the 'band powerhouse', with SBS, the 'drama kingdom', handling the broadcast. It's anticipated to follow in the footsteps of the 2009 sensation 'You're Beautiful' as a youth music romance drama.

Park expressed, "All the characters in the drama are passionate about both love and music. I hope viewers will focus on these aspects and share in the laughter, tears, and heartwarming moments," inviting viewers' interest.

Meanwhile, 'Spring of Youth ' will kick off with special broadcasts of episodes 1 and 2 on May 6th (Tuesday) and 7th (Wednesday), followed by regular broadcasts every Wednesday night at 10:40 PM.
