On the April 18th episode of SBS's weekend drama "The Haunted Palace," viewers watched as Kang-chul possessed Yoon-gap, setting the stage for a supernatural showdown.
During the episode, Yeori glimpsed both herself and Yoon-gap through a mystical mirror.
When Yoon-gap suggested they go together, Yeori agreed, trusting her visions: "My mirror has never been wrong. You'll be okay. No one else will be lost to Kang-chul's schemes." But Kang-chul's tricks left them wandering in circles for two days.
Frustrated, Yeori shouted, "Come out, Kang-chul! I know this is all your doing. Thirteen years―haven't you tormented us long enough? Let us go already, you cursed demon!" Her anger echoed through the forest.
Kang-chul only mocked her, replying, "Yell all you want. You're never leaving this mountain." Meanwhile, Yoon-gap made a heartbreaking sacrifice to protect Yeori and the king.
"If my death can become a thorn in Gwak Sang-chung's side and help the king's grand vision, then I'm not afraid," he declared before collapsing.
Seizing the moment, Kang-chul took over Yoon-gap's body.
"This is a first. Possessing a human is so limiting and sluggish," he grumbled, clearly unimpressed with his new vessel.
Sensing that Kang-chul's presence had vanished, Yeori set out to find Yoon-gap.
When she found him, she quickly realized Kang-chul had possessed him and pulled out the mystical Kyung-gwi Stone.
But Kang-chul knocked it away, declaring, "Yeori, you belong to me now." Yoon-gap, now a spirit, demanded Kang-chul return his body.
In response, Kang-chul tried to possess Yeori instead.
"Once I become your master, you'll have no choice but to obey me. You'll be my loyal disciple, whether you like it or not," he taunted.
However, escaping Yoon-gap's body proved impossible.
In a desperate move, Yeori tried to retrieve the Kyung-gwi Stone, but both she and Kang-chul tumbled off a cliff―leaving viewers on the edge of their seats, wondering what will happen next.
