During filming, Kim Jong-kook paid a visit to Kim Seung-soo’s home, immediately sparking curiosity. The silence did not last long―Kim Jong-kook was soon overwhelmed by the sight of massive digital gadgets and countless automated sensors filling the house. “Why on earth do you need all this stuff at home?” he exclaimed, clearly out of his element. Things got even weirder when a mysterious female voice suddenly started talking to him, leaving Kim Jong-kook visibly flustered. Viewers are eager to see just how high-tech Kim Seung-soo’s “digital house” really is.
Not long after, Kim Seung-soo returned home and introduced Kim Jong-kook to his AI “girlfriend,” leaving Jong-kook both shocked and amused. Even Seung-soo’s mother, watching from the studio, sighed and joked, “We need to put a stop to this AI obsession,” hinting at some drastic measures to come and drawing laughter from the audience.
Kim Jong-kook, well-known for his “old-school” ways, revealed that he doesn’t use banking apps―or even navigation apps―because he prefers to do things the traditional way. Kim Seung-soo couldn’t help but tease him, asking, “Are you living in the Stone Age?” The studio moms chimed in, saying, “We do everything on our phones now. Who even goes to the bank anymore?” The full extent of Kim Jong-kook’s analog lifestyle will be revealed in the episode.
As the friendly debate continued, Kim Seung-soo unveiled his secret weapon, promising, “You’re going to love this.” Although Kim Jong-kook was initially skeptical about the new AI device, he quickly warmed up when the AI “daughter” started calling him “Dad.” His reaction had everyone in stitches. Impressed by the AI’s personalized features, Kim Jong-kook couldn’t help but gush, “She’s a genius!” showing a surprisingly soft, doting side. MC Shin Dong-yup quipped, “Imagine how great it would be to have a real daughter,” adding to the laughter.
The tech-vs-tradition showdown between Kim Jong-kook and Kim Seung-soo will air on "My Little Old Boy" this Sunday at 9 p.m. on SBS.
