The film 'Yadang: The Snitch', starring Kang Ha-neul and Yoo Hae-jin, has climbed to the top of the reservation charts, signaling a promising start at the box office.
According to the Korean Film Council's reservation data on the 15th, 'Yadang: The Snitch' leads with a 34.2% reservation rate and 56,000 tickets sold, topping both categories.
'Yadang: The Snitch' is a crime action film that weaves together the stories of a drug broker named 'Yadang', a prosecutor aiming for higher status, and a detective who is determined to eradicate drug crimes, each driven by different motives. Despite its R-rating due to its drug-related content, the film has already surpassed a 30% reservation rate a day before its release, raising expectations for its success.
Currently, the box office is dominated by 'The Match', starring Lee Byung-hun and Yoo Ah-in, which has held the number one spot for 20 consecutive days. All eyes are on whether 'Yadang: The Snitch', buoyed by the buzz of a new release, can dethrone 'The Match' on its opening day.
'Yadang: The Snitch' is set to hit theaters on the 16th.
