Actor Choi Daniel made a memorable entrance as the newest temporary member of SBS's 'Running Man,' helping the show maintain its top spot in the age group 20-49 ratings.

The episode that aired on the 6th recorded a 2.7% rating in the coveted 20-49 demographic, securing the number one spot among shows airing at the same time. The peak minute rating soared to 6.2%, according to Nielsen Korea's metropolitan area data.

This episode featured a special welcome race titled 'New Family,' celebrating Choi Daniel's addition to the team.

The members gathered early to prepare a surprise welcome for Choi Daniel. Yoo Jae-suk, HAHA, and Yang Se-chan decided to ambush Daniel at his home. Their mission was to get him to the set as quickly as possible without directly urging him, as any direct prompts would result in penalties. They approached him under the guise of filming a vlog for his first day.

Expecting a 2 PM recording, Daniel was caught off guard by the sudden visit, appearing in his natural state, much to the amusement of the members. With his unkempt hair and unshaven face, the members jokingly asked if he was in costume for a castaway role. Daniel, scratching his belly, humorously replied, "I was sleeping. What's going on?" His laid-back demeanor continued as he slowly prepared to leave, prompting Yoo Jae-suk to playfully spray shaving foam on his face, causing laughter all around.

After some comedic chaos, Daniel finally arrived at the filming location, where he was officially welcomed as a temporary member.

Daniel also caught attention with his chemistry with Ji Ye-eun. In the second mission, 'Running Man Nabillera,' participants had to memorize a menu hidden behind a tall wall, requiring them to lift each other. Ji Ye-eun claimed to weigh 45kg, but the others were skeptical. Daniel confidently guessed, "If you're 172cm tall, you must be 58kg." When Ji Ye-eun protested, Daniel cheekily asked, "Is it more?" sparking laughter.

During the mission, Yoo Jae-suk, Song Ji-hyo, and Ji Ye-eun participated, and the members were surprised by Ji Ye-eun's weight when lifting her. After the task, Yoo Jae-suk humorously remarked, "I feel like I'm going to throw up," reigniting the weight debate. With the budget increased to 100,000 won, the members enjoyed a lunch of Daniel's favorite dish, blood sausage soup.

Next week's episode will continue the 'New Family' storyline and feature a 'Driving Determination' race for novice driver Ji Ye-eun. 'Running Man' airs every Sunday at 6:10 PM.
