The group NewJeans is set to begin a legal battle over their exclusive contract with their agency, ADOR.
On the 3rd, the Seoul Central District Court's Civil Division 41 (Presiding Judge Jeong Hoe-il) will hold the first hearing of the main lawsuit filed by ADOR against the five members of NewJeans to confirm the validity of their exclusive contract.
Previously, during their performance at 'ComplexCon' in Hong Kong on the 23rd of last month, NewJeans announced, "Today's stage might be our last for a while. We have decided to halt all activities in compliance with the court's decision. It wasn't an easy choice, but it's a necessary one for us right now," declaring a pause in their activities.
The outcome of NewJeans' main lawsuit has become difficult to predict.
Last month, the court accepted ADOR's injunction request against the five members of NewJeans, which sought to prevent them from signing contracts with other agencies and engaging in advertising deals. However, NewJeans has made it clear that they will focus on the main lawsuit with additional evidence and intend to continue their independent activities based on the outcome.
