On the April 1st episode of SBS' 'Invitation from Bachelor Again,' guests included Koyote's Kim Jong-min, Super Junior's ShinDong and EunHyuk, and singer Son Dong-pyo.
When teased about how celebrities often go public with relationships or experience weight fluctuations when work slows down, ShinDong joked, "Life needs some drama, right?"
ShinDong then shared, "Things have been a bit quiet lately, so I'll just say it―I broke up with my girlfriend last April." When Tak Jae-hoon asked why he felt the need to share that, ShinDong explained, "If I don't say anything, people keep commenting, asking if I got divorced."
Lee Sang-min chimed in, recalling, "Didn't you say you had a girlfriend during the last 'Invitation from Bachelor Again' shoot?" ShinDong confirmed, "I did back then. We dated for about three and a half years. It was tough after we broke up, but we decided to support each other's paths. It was an amicable split."
ShinDong had previously confirmed his relationship with a non-celebrity woman through his agency on January 1, 2023, after rumors surfaced. Reflecting on the timing, ShinDong humorously noted, "Every January 1st, there's always some dating news. On December 31, 2022, IU and Lee Jong-suk's relationship was revealed, and then I became the headline on January 1. But all the comments were like, 'No one cares.' Why did it have to be January 1?"
Having been in the public eye with his relationships before, ShinDong was asked if he was caught or if he went public on purpose. He admitted, "I got caught every time. I'm not good at hiding it." EunHyuk added, "He doesn't really try to hide it," to which ShinDong candidly responded, "I don't really hide it or worry about it, but somehow I always get caught unexpectedly."
