[SBS Night] Choi Yeo-jin & Her Fiance Kim Jae-wook Address Affair Rumors: "We Met After the Divorce"

Choi Yeo-jin and her fiancé Kim Jae-wook have addressed the rumors of an affair.

On the March 31 episode of SBS's 'Same Bed, Different Dreams 2: You Are My Destiny,' Choi Yeo-jin clarified the rumors surrounding her and Kim Jae-wook.

During the episode, Choi Yeo-jin was seen having a video call with someone referred to as "Manager." They exchanged words of gratitude and appeared quite friendly.

During the call, the manager mentioned, "My sibling sent me something yesterday, saying there was weird stuff about you on YouTube. I reported that account. You probably have seen it too. It must have been upsetting," expressing concern for Choi Yeo-jin.

The manager continued, "They wrote some strange fiction. It must have been tough, but you didn't say anything," showing sympathy. Choi Yeo-jin calmly replied, "What's the point of talking about it? It just stirs things up."

The manager then surprised everyone by saying, "Even after everything was settled and the divorce was finalized, people still talk. Why is there so much chatter?" It turned out the manager was Kim Jae-wook's ex-wife.

Kim Jae-wook's ex-wife added, "I'm a witness, and I say it's not true, yet there are so many rumors. I'm actually supportive of you two," expressing her support for Choi Yeo-jin and her ex-husband's relationship.

Choi Yeo-jin cautiously explained, "The reason I had to think carefully before starting a relationship with him was exactly because of this."

In 2020, Choi Yeo-jin appeared on a show with Kim Jae-wook and his ex-wife. During that time, she referred to them as "people who are like my mom and dad," which led to some people viewing their relationship with suspicion.

Choi Yeo-jin and Kim Jae-wook firmly stated, "The idea that we were a couple back then is completely false."

Kim Jae-wook explained, "I got married in 2016, and after about six months, we realized we were on different paths. We started living separately in 2017 and eventually divorced. Neither of us is the type to talk about our personal lives, so we didn't tell many people about the divorce. We parted on good terms, and we support each other's paths."

Choi Yeo-jin added, "Our romantic relationship started not long ago. I want to make it clear that we met after the divorce and did nothing that could be misunderstood."

Choi Yeo-jin also expressed her apologies to Kim Jae-wook's ex-wife, saying, "I expected these rumors might come up. If I had approached him with any ulterior motives, I wouldn't have gone on a show and announced our relationship. I thought I could handle it, but hearing it is still upsetting. I'm sorry to both of them. I can't change people's minds, but I hope they can be protected as they are not celebrities."

Choi Yeo-jin concluded, "I didn't have to talk about this, but I wanted to be open about our relationship and love without misunderstandings, which is why I chose to address it."

Kim Jae-wook expressed his regret, saying, "I feel so sorry because it seems like it's all because of me. I feel guilty towards both her and my ex-wife. If it were someone else, they wouldn't have to go through this pain or face unnecessary misunderstandings. It's all because of my past, and I feel nothing but regret," drawing attention with his heartfelt apology to Choi Yeo-jin.
