SBS' Friday-Saturday drama 'Buried Hearts' (written by Lee Myung-hee, directed by Jin Chang-kyu) has taken the audience by storm. In the dramatic ending of episode 10, aired on the 22nd, the characters Seo Dong-joo (played by Park Hyung-sik) and Yeo Eun-nam (played by Hong Hwa-yeon) face the shocking possibility that they might be half-siblings. This twist sent the ratings soaring, reaching a new high of 13.1% nationwide according to Nielsen Korea.
Throughout the series, 'Buried Hearts' has been dropping hints about a character named Seong-hyun. When Seo Dong-joo first claimed to have lost his memory after a near-death experience, the only name he remembered was 'Seong-hyun.' When he introduced himself as Seong-hyun, it stirred curiosity among the Daesan family members, particularly Cha Deok-hee (played by Kim Jung-nan) and Secretary Gong (played by Seo Kyung-hwa), who whispered, "That child is dead."
Later, Seong Bo-yeon (played by Lee Hang-na), the wife of Yeom Jang-seon (played by Heo Joon-ho), looked at a childhood photo of Seo Dong-joo and recalled a child named Seong-hyun. Although Seong Bo-yeon was convinced that Seong-hyun and Seo Dong-joo were the same person, Yeom Jang-seon insisted it was "another child," pressuring her to change her statement. This only deepened the mystery surrounding Seong-hyun for the viewers.
Adding to the intrigue, Madam Pi (played by Son Ji-na) revealed a past photo of Seo Dong-joo, which delivered a shocking twist. The person holding young Seo Dong-joo in the photo was Yeo Eun-nam's biological father, Yeo Soon-ho (played by Joo Sang-wook). Madam Pi speculated that Yeo Soon-ho might be Seo Dong-joo's father. If true, this would mean Seo Dong-joo and Yeo Eun-nam share the same father, a revelation that left Seo Dong-joo utterly bewildered.
Fans of 'Buried Hearts' are now eagerly anticipating Seo Dong-joo's next move. Will he delve into the secrets of his birth, or will he choose to leave them buried? The production team released stills from episode 11, showing Seo Dong-joo deep in thought as he visits a location with Madam Pi, further piquing viewers' curiosity.
Regarding this, the production team of 'Buried Hearts' stated, "In tomorrow's episode 11, Seo Dong-joo will be engulfed in turmoil over the secrets of his birth and will make a significant decision. This choice will have a profound impact on the storyline of 'Buried Hearts.' Park Hyung-sik delivers a powerful and nuanced performance, capturing Seo Dong-joo's emotional turmoil. We ask for your anticipation for the whirlwind episodes 11 and 12."
Episode 11 of 'Buried Hearts' will air on Friday, the 28th, at 9:50 PM.
