Singer Yebit, 25, has opened up about her battle with thyroid cancer, revealing that she is currently undergoing vocal rehabilitation following surgery.
On the 25th, Yebit shared an update on her social media, saying, "Hi, everyone. It's been a while since I last shared my news. It looks like spring has finally arrived." She continued, "Last November, I was unexpectedly diagnosed with thyroid cancer, and I underwent surgery this past February, making for an unusually long winter."
Yebit reassured her fans by saying, "Thanks to the support and care from those around me, I'm slowly recovering day by day." She added, "The surgery went well, but given the nature of the area, I'm still having some difficulty using my voice freely, so I'm taking time for practice and rehabilitation."
She further shared, "Even though they say it's a 'good' cancer, it was truly frightening and challenging. It was tough to pause my life, but thinking about a healthier and stronger future gives me strength. I promise to return with new music after a full recovery."
Yebit made her debut after winning third place at the 29th Yoo Jae-ha Music Competition and released her digital single "Smile for Me" in May 2020. Last year, she signed an exclusive contract with Magic Strawberry Sound, hinting at active promotions. She continues to connect with fans through her music on YouTube.
