Singer Lim Young-woong has admitted to the fact that his home was seized due to unpaid local taxes, explaining that it was an unintentional mistake.
On the 26th, Lim Young-woong's agency, Mulgogi Music, addressed the issue of his home being seized due to unpaid local taxes, stating, "There was an error in the process of receiving the tax notice," and added, "We apologize for not being more attentive."
According to the agency's explanation, the mailbox for Lim Young-woong's apartment is located on the third floor, rather than at the entrance on the ground or basement level. This led to a period during which the mail was not checked, resulting in the local tax notice not being received, and eventually leading to a seizure notice.
Previously, a media outlet reported that Lim Young-woong had his property seized by the Mapo District Tax Collection Office due to unpaid local taxes, but the seizure was lifted after he paid the overdue taxes within three months.
In response, Lim Young-woong's team stated, "Upon realizing the situation earlier this year, the taxes were immediately paid, and the seizure has since been lifted," adding, "We deeply apologize for not being more vigilant, which led to this situation."
Lim Young-woong purchased a luxury penthouse in Hapjeong-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, for 5.1 billion won in September 2022, where he currently resides.
