Airing on the 27th, SBS' television show 'Jungle Bob 2' will take viewers on a challenging culinary journey over 3,000 meters above sea level in the Andes. The show promises to captivate audiences with unique ingredients found only in the highlands of Peru.
On this episode, the cast travels to Cusco, a city in Peru known as the "Land of the Children of the Sun." At an altitude exceeding 3,400 meters, this area is notorious for its risk of altitude sickness. The cast embarks on a quest to find special ingredients available only in these highlands. However, they could not escape the effects of altitude sickness, experiencing severe discomfort from shortness of breath and dizziness upon arriving in Cusco. Even the usually energetic Ryu Soo-young, known for his high spirits on 'Jungle Bob 2,' described the experience as "like trying to breathe through four straws." The anticipation builds as viewers wonder what culinary challenges the cast will face in this high-altitude adventure.
This episode will also feature the first-ever appearance of mystical salt from the Andes, not the sea. The cast members find themselves working at the ancient 'Salineras' salt flats, which boast a history of over a thousand years. They manage to penetrate the tightly secured area to harvest the pink-hued Inca salt, drawing much attention.
Jeon Hyun-moo expressed his amazement, saying, "This is a place no other show has been able to access. It's a sight you can only see on 'Jungle Bob 2.'" The breathtaking scenery of the vast mountain salt flats and the intense salt harvesting process will be exclusively revealed on 'Jungle Bob 2.'
Meanwhile, 'Jungle Bob 2's host, Ryu Soo-young, takes on the challenge of making handmade noodles in the highlands, living up to his reputation as a culinary expert. Initially surprised by the unfamiliar alpaca meat, he quickly decides to make 'Alpaca Noodles,' instinctively kneading the dough despite the thin air. His dedication and skill in crafting perfectly chewy noodles are set to impress, with his unique noodle-making techniques to be fully unveiled.
In the studio, reactions included comments like, "It's like watching a master noodle chef," and "His noodle-making skills deserve applause." Viewers are eager to see the final result of Ryu Soo-young's homemade alpaca noodle dish and learn his special recipe, which will be revealed during the broadcast.
The grueling culinary journey of 'Jungle Bob 2,' seeking new flavors in the highlands, will air on Thursday, the 27th, at 9 PM.
