GOT7 YOUNGJAE shared the behind-the-scenes story of how he decided to join the musical 'Again Dream High' after receiving a heartfelt proposal from Park Kyung-lim.
At the 'Again Dream High' production press conference held on the 25th at a hotel in Mapo-gu, Seoul, Youngjae revealed, "Initially, I was only supposed to sing for the soundtrack. But then, Park Kyung-lim gave me a letter and some tangerines. I still have that letter, and it really moved me. Thanks to her wonderful offer, I decided to join the cast."
In 'Again Dream High,' YOUNGJAE takes on the role of Song Sam-dong, a K-pop star with a global fanbase. The character of Song Sam-dong is also portrayed by other stars like SE7EN, Kim Dong-jun, and JINJIN.
When asked about his portrayal of Sam-dong, YOUNGJAE said, "I want to show a friendly side, but I also want to maintain the character's essence by bringing out a strong and appealing charm."
'Again Dream High' is based on the 2011 KBS drama and had its first stage performance in May 2023. This season, 'Again Dream High' will open simultaneously in Korea and Japan to commemorate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The musical will run from the 5th of next month to June 1st at the Woori Financial Art Hall in Olympic Park.
