Despite a court ruling that the group NewJeans/NJZ should not engage in independent activities, they have firmly stated that they cannot work with ADOR, with whom they are currently in a dispute.
On the 21st, the Seoul Central District Court's Civil Division 50, led by Chief Judge Kim Sang-hoon, accepted ADOR's request for an injunction against the five members, prohibiting them from entering into agency and advertising contracts independently.
In response to the court's decision, ADOR expressed their approval, stating, "With the legal confirmation of ADOR's status as NewJeans' agency, we will take full responsibility for supporting the artists moving forward." They also emphasized their commitment to supporting NewJeans' performance at the upcoming 'ComplexCon' in Hong Kong under ADOR's name.
They added, "We hope to have an honest conversation with the artists soon," and earnestly requested, "Please continue to support and encourage NewJeans as they grow with ADOR."
On the other hand, the members of NewJeans/NJZ have decided to challenge the injunction and plan to clarify through the main lawsuit scheduled for April 3rd that their contract with ADOR was legally terminated.
They also announced their intention to participate in the Hong Kong performance scheduled for the 23rd.
The members of NewJeans/NJZ stated, "After much consideration, we decided to participate in the concert to prevent any unintended harm to our fans who are looking forward to it as well as all the parties involved." However, there is concern that this decision to proceed with activities might negatively impact their position in the main lawsuit.
