Actor Joo Won has been appointed as a promotional ambassador for the volunteer fire brigade.

Joo Won was named the promotional ambassador during the '4th Anniversary of Volunteer Firefighters Day' ceremony held on the 19th.

Upon his appointment, Joo Won shared, "My childhood dream was to become a firefighter, but as time went by, I think there were moments when I took the hard work of firefighters and volunteer firefighters for granted."

He continued, "While filming the movie 'Firefighters,' I once again felt a deep respect and gratitude. I want to take this opportunity to express my thanks once more." He added, "As I've been appointed as a promotional ambassador for the volunteer fire brigade, I will strive to raise awareness about your hard work and the importance of safety."

Additionally, Joo Won remarked, "Since the movie 'Firefighters' is based on a true story, I felt a sense of duty and did my best to convey sincerity. I believe it's a positive thing that many people, especially young children, are inspired to dream of becoming firefighters after watching the film," sharing his thoughts on the appointment.

Previously, Joo Won played the role of a rookie firefighter named 'Chul-woong' in the movie 'Firefighters,' which depicted the tragic 2001 Hongje-dong fire incident. His authentic performance deeply moved audiences, capturing the intense scenes, dedication, and sacrifices of firefighters, leaving a lasting impact on many.
