The Netflix series 'When Life Gives You Tangerines', which narrates the adventurous lives of 'rebellious spirit' Aesoon and 'stubborn iron-willed' Gwansik from Jeju across four seasons, released its fall poster, Act 3 teaser, and stills on March 17.
The newly released fall poster captures the attention with the image of four people standing amidst fallen leaves in a sunset-lit Seoul. Unlike their usual appearance, the middle-aged 'Aesoon' (Moon So-ri) and 'Gwansik' (Park Hae-jun) are dressed up, along with their daughter 'Geum-myeong' (IU), and the back of a young man greeting them stands out.
The expression of 'Aesoon', smiling warmly with her arm linked with 'Geum-myeong', is filled with happiness and pride. In contrast, 'Gwansik' looks at the young man with a disapproving expression, sparking curiosity with his different demeanor from 'Aesoon'. The shy 'Geum-myeong' and the polite young man bowing respectfully raise questions about who he might be and what stories will unfold.
Act 3 of 'When Life Gives You Tangerines' promises a richer narrative as it expands from the story of 'Aesoon' and 'Gwansik' to include 'Geum-myeong's life, much like the deepening of autumn.
The Act 3 teaser begins with the concerned words of middle-aged 'Aesoon' and a phone call from the irritable 'Geum-myeong', unfolding the story of 'Geum-myeong' as she leaves the embrace of 'Aesoon' and 'Gwansik' to live her own life.
'Geum-myeong' embarks on a new chapter in her life, enjoying happy days as she continues a romantic relationship with 'Young-beom' (Lee Jun-young). The unwavering love of 'Aesoon' and 'Gwansik', who vowed to protect young 'Geum-myeong' at all costs, continues to support and encourage her as she navigates life's growing pains. Watching their daughter, who has always been the best in their eyes, face the world and grow, 'Aesoon' shares in her pain, while 'Gwansik' quietly stands by her side.
The narration by 'Geum-myeong' and 'Aesoon', "The strongest wind in the world was the one blowing within a person's heart," and "Everyone swayed with the love they held inside, and the wind in their hearts raged like a storm," hints at the trials they will face and the warm love that will help them endure together. As leaves change color and fruits ripen, their story promises to mature and develop into a rich, autumn-like narrative, heightening anticipation.
The released stills also vividly depict the tapestry of their lives. The story of 'Aesoon', who watches over and supports her child, and 'Gwansik', who remains the family's steadfast pillar, unfolds in Act 3 of 'When Life Gives You Tangerines'.
