On March 17, Wheesung's brother, representing the family, stated, "All the monetary gifts received during the funeral will be used in Wheesung's name to benefit society positively. We will consult with experts in the relevant fields to find the most sustainable way to do this."
The family also expressed their gratitude, saying, "During the funeral last weekend, many colleagues and fans came to ensure that my brother's final journey was not lonely. I was deeply comforted by the words of those who said they found happiness and strength in his music."
They added, "Although he struggled with various negative emotions and unexpected painful situations, he never lost his passion for music and continued to create beautiful songs. We sincerely hope that his works, which have seen the light of day through these times, will never be forgotten, and our family will continue to honor his legacy."
Wheesung was found deceased at his home in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, on March 10, at the age of 43. The funeral was held on the morning of March 16 at Seoul Samsung Hospital in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, attended by about 130 people, including family, colleagues from the music industry, and fans, who came to bid him farewell.
