Singer DJ Koo bid a final farewell to his wife, Barbie Hsu.
According to Taiwanese media, on March 15, DJ Koo, along with Barbie Hsu's mother, sister, children, and about ten others, laid Barbie Hsu to rest at the "Sunlight Garden" in Taipei's Jinbaoshan amidst the rain.
Dressed in a black suit, DJ Koo appeared noticeably thinner, as if he had been through a difficult time, and was reported to have carried Barbie Hsu's urn while shedding tears throughout the funeral proceedings. The ceremony was held under a tent set up in the memorial park.
A source explained, "The family did not want to be disturbed, so they requested that the media not expose the funeral proceedings." It was also reported that Barbie Hsu's ex-husband, Wang Xiaofei, did not attend.
On this day, DJ Koo was said to have shown his respect by kneeling in front of the urn and offering three meals to Barbie Hsu.
Since Barbie Hsu's passing, DJ Koo reportedly prepared soup and omelets for 41 days, along with the dishes she loved during her lifetime. Taiwanese media described this as a Korean custom.
A statue of Barbie Hsu will be erected at the Jinbaoshan Memorial Park to allow fans to pay their respects.
Barbie Hsu reunited and remarried DJ Koo in 2022 after more than 20 years apart, but she passed away in February during a trip to Japan when her flu symptoms suddenly worsened.
