[SBS Star] Shin Dong-yeob Says He Was Surprised by His Young Son Knowing His Relationship with Lee So-ra

Comedian Shin Dong-yeob revealed that his son knows about his past relationship with actress Lee So-ra.

On January 20 episode of "Zzan Bro" on Shin Dong-yeob's YouTube channel, he was joined by actors Kwon Sang-woo, Hwang Woo Seul Hye, and Lee Yi Kyung.

While talking about family together, Shin Dong-yeob said to them, "I've done a lot of shows that aren't exactly family-friendly, so I can't watch them with my kids." 

He then shared a story from the past: "During a family dinner, I was talking to my son and said, 'When you grow up, I hope you get married, live happily like us, and have kids of your own.' My son looked at me and asked, 'Why did you marry Mom?'" 

Shin Dong-yeob said he responded by telling his son that it was because Mom was his first love and how happy he was to have married his first love. However, he noticed that his son's expression suddenly changed after hearing this.

Shin Dong-yeob explained, "At that moment, my son, who was still young, hesitated like he was debating whether to say it or not. Then, as if he couldn't hold it in any longer, he blurted out, 'I know all about you and Lee So-ri! You two dated!'" 

He added that while his son did not fully understand who Lee So-ra was, even getting her name wrong, he somehow knew about their past public relationship.

"He must have seen or heard it somewhere. It was so cute," Shin Dong-yeob said with a laugh.
Shin Dong-yeob and Lee So-ra went public with their relationship in 1997. 

At the time, their relationship was so serious that marriage was even on the table, but they eventually broke up in 2001.

In 2023, Shin Dong-yeob appeared as a guest on Lee So-ra's YouTube show "Supermarket So-ra," which drew significant public interest.

During the episode, the two openly shared heartfelt stories about their relationship and reflected on how they continued to respect each other while pursuing their own paths after their breakup.
