According to Star News on January 13, the new drama "Slowly and Intensely" by screenwriter Noh Hee-kyung started filming on the 12th.
The drama is set in the broadcasting world of the 1960s and 1970s, telling the story of both stars and those who shape them.
This marks the third collaboration between Song Hye Kyo and Noh Hee-kyung, following their previous works in 2008 KBS' drama "Worlds Within" and 2013 SBS' drama "That Winter, the Wind Blows."
Earlier this week, she appeared on singer Jung Jae-hyung's YouTube show, explaining her new look by saying, "I cut my hair for the next project. It's a drama by Noh Hee-kyung, set in the 1960s and 70s."
Gong Yoo has a close working relationship with producer Lee Yoon-jung. Lee Yoon-jung previously collaborated with Gong Yoo on MBC's drama "Coffee Prince," which helped catapult Gong Yoo to stardom.
"Slowly and Intensely" consists of 22 episodes, with a production budget exceeding 700 billion won (approximately 48 million dollars), and it will be released on Netflix.
As this drama features two top actors and marks their first collaboration with such an astronomical budget, it is currently one of the most highly anticipated dramas.
