[SBS Star] "I Was Captivated" Lee Jang-woo Describes His First Encounter with Girlfriend Cho Hye Won

Actor Lee Jang-woo said he was captivated by his girlfriend, actress Cho Hye Won, the first time he saw her.

On the December 26 episode of comedian Jung Junha's YouTube show 'Jung Junhahaha', Lee Jang-woo guested and told how he first met Cho Hye Won, his girlfriend eight years younger than him.

Lee Jang-woo and Cho Hye Won went public with their romantic relationship in June last year.

The two met while working together in KBS' 2018 television series 'My Only One', and have been dating for six years.

Lee Jang-woo recently said he plans to tie the knot with Cho Hye Won sometime next year.
When asked what made him fall for her, Lee Jang-woo recounted the day he first saw Cho Hye Won during the 'My Only One' production.

"While making 'My Only One', the cast members would meet at 7 or 8 in the morning for a table read whenever there was on-set filming."

"One day, I went to one of those table reads. The director and the veteran actors like Choi Soo-jong sunbae-nim were in the front row, and on one side was where actors with minor roles sat.", Lee Jang Woo remarked.

"A female actor passed by me saying hello; she was quite tall and had high heels. 'Wow, I wonder what kind of guys a woman like her would date.', I thought, feeling like I was captivated.", Lee Jang-woo said, recounting his first encounter with Cho Hye Won.
Lee Jang-woo went on to talk about the moment he decided to ask Cho Hye Won out.

"When shooting scenes on set, the waiting room monitor shows them in real-time. I walked in, and Choi Soo-jong and Park Sang-won sunbae-nims were looking at the monitor as it showed Cho Hye Won performing a scene. 'She's quite a charmer.', they said, talking about how gorgeous she was."

"When I heard what they said, I knew I had to ask her out. I mean, even the experienced seniors were impressed with her! Thinking that I should at least give it a try, I sent her a direct message on Instagram and asked my manager to get me her number.", the actor said.
Lee Jang-woo resumed, "However, my manager said he couldn't get her number or even which agency represented her. While wondering what to do next, I got a message from her on Instagram that answered my earlier message. 'Who is this??', she asked."

"'I'm Lee Jang-woo; we filmed together the other day. Thank you for being part of the project.', I said, like the lead actor I was. Then I asked her if she was seeing anyone. An hour later, she answered, 'I'm not.'. So I said, 'Give me a chance.', asking if I could take her out for dinner."

"So we had a dinner together and then started dating.", Lee Jang-woo said, revealing how his bravery turned a temporary tie into a romantic relationship.
