[SBS Star] Eugene Says Daughter Ro-hee Had a Hard Time with the Attention 'Return of Superman' Brought

Actress Eugene and her husband, actor Ki Tae Young, explained why they had left 'The Return of Superman' where they starred with their first daughter Ro-hee.

On December 5, Eugene and Ki Tae Young posted a new video on their YouTube channel.

In the video, the couple talked about how their two kids, Ro-hee and Ro-rin, had been.

Eugene mentioned that she and Ki Tae Young rarely watch TV in their house and said, "I'm pretty sure our children have never seen TV shows."

"But pop music got into them quickly. Ro-hee has been asking me to get her (K-pop boy group) TOMORROW X TOGETHER album and their concert ticket.", she said and laughed.
"Your children were exposed to the media at an early age. How do the kids feel about it?", the producer asked the couple.

"After having been on 'The Return of Superman' for quite a while, Ro-hee had some kind of a side effect.", Ki Tae Young said.

Eugene added, "More like the beginning of side effects."

"Since Ro-hee was a baby back then, people treated her too friendly without respecting her a lot.", Ki Tae Young explained.

"Whenever we went outside, strangers would come right up to us and unzip the stroller's cover to push their faces in and say hi to Ro-hee."

"After all that, Ro-hee started covering her face with her hands when we went outside.", he added.

Eugene said, "All the attention made Ro-hee uncomfortable, and she didn't like it. So we decided to end it by leaving the show."
However, Eugene said things are different now that years have passed since they appeared in 'The Return of Superman'.

"Ro-hee seems to enjoy the attention now, proudly sharing that strangers recognized her. When she was younger, she asked me, 'Mommy, does everyone in Korea know me?'.", the actress shared with a chuckle.

She added, "Ro-hee seems to think of the attention as a pleasant surprise rather than a negative thing now that she has grown up more."
Meanwhile, Ki Tae Young and Eugene married in 2011; the couple welcomed their first daughter, Ro-hee, in 2015 and another daughter, Ro-rin, in 2018.

The couple joined KBS' television show 'The Return of Superman' as a fixed cast member in 2015 to capture Ro-hee's early memories. 

Despite their high popularity on the show, the family announced their departure in December 2017.
