[SBS Star] Sam Hammington Tells Why He Decided to Leave 'The Return of Superman' After 5 Years

Korea-based New Zealander Australian comedian Sam Hammington shared why he stepped down from 'The Return of Superman' after five years. 

On October 12 episode of MBC's television show 'Radio Star', Sam Hammington made a guest appearance. 

During the talk, Sam Hammington revealed why he decided to step down from 'The Return of Superman' that he featured in for about five years with his boys―William and Bentley. 

Sam Hammington stated, "When it had been over five years since I joined 'The Return of Superman', it got me thinking, 'Would it be a good idea for the kids to keep being on the show?' William first appeared on 'The Return of Superman' when he was only 100 days old. Bentley was born on the show." 

He continued, "All three of us had to be careful of the things we say or do at all times, and I thought it would be better if we left. It was a decision for my sons." 
After that, Sam Hammington spoke about receiving messages from fans that made him feel emotional. 

He said, "After it was announced that we were going to depart from the show, I received many messages from all across the globe. Some told me that they were able to overcome difficult times and recover their mental health by watching us. Those messages really touched my heart." 
Then, the host Yoo Se Yoon asked Sam Hammington about his family running a YouTube channel following their leave from 'The Return of Superman', "Isn't that kind of the same as being on 'The Return of Superman'? What's the difference?" 

Sam Hammington gave an honest answer, "Well, I no longer have to work with those broadcasting company bastards.", which made the hosts and other guests laugh hard.  

With a smile, he added, "William and Bentley have been doing whatever they want in their own ways on our YouTube channel." 
Sam Hammington's family starred in 'The Return of Superman' for about five years from 2017 until earlier this year.
