[SBS Star] DARA Says Her Ex Gave Her Confidence When She Lost It with a Half-shaved Hairstyle

K-pop artist DARA shared that her boyfriend at the time when she had a half-shaved hairstyle gave her confidence. 

On September 14 episode of MBC's television show 'Radio Star', DARA made a guest appearance. 

During the talk, DARA talked about trying out various hairstyles for the group's performances when she was a member of 2NE1. 

DARA said, "I've had lots of different hairstyles as a 2NE1 member. It was because we once said to each other, 'Let's not be girls on stage. Let's be artists.' My shocking hairstyles often made headlines back in the day." 
The K-pop star resumed, "The thing was though, when I half-shaved my head for another unique hairstyle, I was in a relationship. With make-up, the half-shaved hairstyle looked really cool. It made me look kind of sexy. It didn't give off the same kind of vibe without make-up though." 

She went on, "If I looked at myself in the mirror wearing pajamas with no make-up, then I felt like I looked terrible. I just looked hideous. Every time I looked at myself in the mirror, my confidence vanished." 

It looked like DARA was able to overcome that with the power of love, as she stated with a smile though, "But my boyfriend at that time was like, 'You look pretty even with that hairstyle.'" 
Afterwards, DARA picked the most memorable hairstyle from her 2NE1 days, "Ah, it's got to be that pointy upper hair that people called 'Dragon Ball' Vegito's hairstyle." 

DARA explained why, "In order to get my hair down, I had to use hair treatment like four to five times. It didn't work with shampoo at all." 

She continued, "Also, I had to tilt my head sideways in cars that didn't have a sunroof. My neck would hurt so much then.", then laughed.
