[SBS Star] HANI & JEONGHWA Confirm to Leave Their Agency; What Will Happen to EXID?

K-pop girl group EXID's members HANI and JEONGHWA revealed to be leaving their agency while the other three members―LE, SOLJI, and HYELIN are remaining there.

On May 3, EXID's management agency Banana Culture Entertainment issued an official statement regarding EXID's future. The agency stated, "EXID members' contract ends with us at the end of this month. We have renewed our contract with LE, SOLJI, and HYELIN the other day. As for HANI and JEONGHWA, we could not reach an agreement. They will be parting ways with us at the end of the contract. They will be finding a new management agency where it can help them achieve their goals." They carried on, "We would like to add that EXID are not disbanding. The members of EXID will take a break from the group promotions for some time, but we will try to find ways for all of them to promote together in the future. For the time being though, LE, SOLJI, and HYELIN will focus on promoting as solo artists."

Lastly, they said, "Please continue supporting LE, SOLJI, HYELIN, HANI, and JEONGHWA, who are about to embark on a new journey." Shortly after issuing this statement, the agency revealed that EXID will be making a comeback with a new mini album on May 15.

They noted that HANI and JEONGHWA will take part in promoting a new mini album.

After this upcoming promotion, however, it is expected a group promotion will not take place for a while.
