Recently, some international ARMYs (BTS' official fan club) decided to visit J-HOPE's hometown Gwangju and learn more about the city's history.

The fans said, "We were wondering where we should go before the concert, and we decided to visit the May 18th National Cemetery. It feels nice to come and see J-HOPE's hometown."

Over six hundred citizens of Gwangju have died during this movement, and J-HOPE constantly expressed his respect and pride for his city and its history.
In one of BTS' songs 'Ma City', J-HOPE sings, "I'm a Jeollanam-do Gwangju baby. If you want to see me, gather around at 7 and dial 062-518."
