[SBS Star] Kim Hyun Joong Shares What Went on in His Mind During His 4-year Break

Korean singer/actor Kim Hyun Joong talked about how he had been doing for the last four years when he was off-screen.

On October 23, a press conference for KBS W's upcoming drama 'At That Moment When Time Stops' (literal translation) was held in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul.

Kim Hyun Joong attended the press conference as the lead of the drama, but he seemed nervous throughout the event. Kim Hyung Joong opened up, "To be honest, I don't feel too comfortable right now. But I have prepared myself for a day like this. Today, I'll honestly talk about myself and also actively promote the drama."

After a short pause, he said, "The time in the military was very tough for me. The hardest thing was that I wasn't able to do anything about the things that were going on outside of my military life."

He went on, "It wasn't always tough though. After I got used to the military life, I was able to utilize the time in the military to solely use it for myself; I tried to find the best way for me to get back on track after discharging from the military." Then, Kim Hyun Joong added, "However, the reality was quite different from how I imagined in the military. It took some time for me to take everything in. I felt lonely and I kept asking myself if I have failed at life. I began brainstorming ideas to make myself happy again."

Kim Hyun Joong explained that as he began opening himself to the world, he was able to realize there were people still supporting him, which gave him courage to start doing music and acting again.

Lastly, Kim Hyun Joong mentioned how he feels nowadays, "These days, I just wish for me to have a happy day. I try to enjoy life by living the moment." Since 2014, Kim Hyun Joong has been involved in a legal battle with his ex-girlfriend over matters of assault, pregnancy, child, and more.

Last year, he was caught driving under the influence of alcohol as well.

Meanwhile, 'At That Moment When Time Stops' is scheduled to air its first episode on October 24.
