[SBS Star] GOT7 JB Opens Up About Father's Drinking Issues Which Led to Parents' Divorce

K-pop boy group GOT7's member JB opened up about his father's drinking issues which eventually led to his parents' divorce.

On September 18 episode of KBS' talk show 'Hello Counselor', JB made a guest appearance.

'Hello Counselor' is a show where people discuss their struggles with the cast and guests.

On this day, two young girls appeared on the show to talk about their father, who puts alcohol before his family. They said, "Our dad comes home late every night after drinking, and wakes us up by kicking us. He also says mean things to us all the time. The problem is, he doesn't remember any of it the next morning and does the same things again and again."

They continued with tearful eyes, "He promised mom that he would stop drinking, but he broke the promise within a day. Mom and dad always fight because of dad's drinking problems. It scares us when they argue. We just want dad to stop drinking and giving us a hard time." After listening to the story, JB commented, "My family was just like that. In the end, my parents got divorced. I have a stepdad now."

He continued, "When I used to hear them argue, I would become cautious of everything I did. It made me scared and I became more afraid. I think this is a really big concern. It isn't good for kids." Meanwhile, GOT7 returned with a third full album 'Present : YOU' with the title track 'Lullaby' on September 17.
