[SBS Star] Idol Stars Who Have Changed Their Legal Names

Although you may know your bias by a certain name or his/her stage name, some idol stars have had different names when they were actually born.

They often change their names based on certain stories or some special meanings behind them.

Check out the list of six idol group members who have changed their real names and why!
1. Wanna One's Kang Daniel

Kang Daniel was originally born as Kang Eui-geon but his family members had difficulties pronouncing his name.

So he legally changed Eui-geon to Daniel, after searching it from the Bible.
2. TWICE's JIHYO

JIHYO (Park Jihyo) was originally born as Jisoo. 

However, she had it changed before participating in survival program 'Sixteen' as there are already many celebrities with the name Jisoo.
3. Lee Ho Won (Hoya, former INFINITE member)

During his guest appearance at a variety show, Lee Ho Won revealed that he was actually born as Lee Ho Dong.

However, his classmates teased him as he shared the name with a famous comedian, Kang Ho Dong.

He shared that his parents decided to change his name to Ho Won as he cried often.
4. Highlight's Yong Junhyung

Yong Junhyung was born as Yong Jaesoon, but he was often teased for his name as it sounded feminine.

Therefore, he decided to change his name when he was in his sixth grade.
5. TWICE's JEONGYEON

Many fans are not aware that JEONGYEON (Gong Jeongyeon)'s real name was Kyungwan.

However, she was also teased by her classmates as her name sounded somewhat masculine, so she changed it to Jeongyeon instead.
6. 2PM's JUN.K

JUN.K (Kim Minjun) was born as Kim Junsu, and he had kept the name even after his debut.

However, when his father passed away, he changed it to Minjun as his father wanted his name to be Minjun.
