[SBS Star] MINHO Shares Why He Gave Up on His Dream of Becoming a Soccer Player
K-pop boy group SHINee's member MINHO shared the reason why he gave up on his dream of becoming a soccer player.

On June 25 episode of JTBC's variety show 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator', a former soccer coach of FC Seoul Choi Young-soo, and current soccer coach of Busan IPark Choi Yun-kyum's son MINHO made a guest appearance.

As this episode was produced in support of the '2018 FIFA World Cup Russia', the hosts and guests continuously talked about playing soccer.

During the talk, Choi Young-soo said, "I heard that MINHO is great at playing soccer. If he became a soccer player, he would become well-known for not only a good-looking player, but also a highly skilled player."

In response to this, MINHO said, "I really wanted to become a soccer player when I was younger, but my dad strongly opposed to the idea. He even ordered me to get out of the house if I were to keep insisting on becoming a soccer player."
MINHO
He continued, "After some time, I asked him why he didn't want me to become a soccer player, and he told me, 'If you were as good as Son Heung-min (a professional soccer player who currently plays for Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur), then I would have supported you in every way. But you were not as good as him at that time.'"

Meanwhile, SHINee has unveiled the group's new title track 'Our Page' from the third version of its sixth full album 'The Story of Light EP.3' on June 25.
