[SBS Star] Advertisement Companies Say They Can Give BTS a Blank Check

Various advertisement companies in Korea incessantly try to contact the K-pop boy group BTS.

According to media reports on May 31, a staff from advertising industry noted, "Companies want BTS to be their model because their products can get exposed to the international audience." The staff highlighted, "The companies don't care how much BTS wants. They just want the group to be their model."

Another staff from the industry also said, "The popularity of BTS is more than the one of Korean celebrities when they were famous in China." The staff explained, "The Korean Wave was rapidly spread in China few years ago, and Korean celebrities signed a contract with various cosmetic brands."
The staff emphasized, "But the popularity of BTS is incomparable. Do you see how influential the group is?".

Previously, after BTS was recognized as the influential K-pop boy band with the release of its album 'LOVE YOURSELF 承 Her' last year, the group received around a billion won (approximately 940 thousand dollars). The staff said, "But now, we can't measure how much the group deserves. A billion won is generally the maximum amount of money celebrities can get from the contract with cosmetic brands, but BTS is just a different case. Companies will pay as much as the group wants." BTS is currently the model of various brands, including beverages, electronics, duty-free stores, banks, cosmetics, and many more.

However, the staff noted, "But because BTS is already busy with its schedules, it is really unlikely for the group to sign another contract. BTS will have no time for additional activities."
