[SBS Star] VIDEO: (G)I-DLE Takes Its First Win Only After Three Weeks Since Debut

K-pop girl group (G)I-DLE took its first-ever win with 'LATATA' on 'The Show'.

On May 22 episode of SBS MTV 'The Show', (G)I-DLE won first place with the group's debut song 'LATATA' from its first mini album 'I am'.

On this day, (G)I-DLE came in first with the total score of 8,063.

The other candidates included boy group THE BOYZ who received 3,960 points, and DREAMCATCHER with 3,544 points.  Since (G)I-DLE debuted only 20 days ago on May 2, it has become one of the fastest girl groups to take the first music show trophy home.

When the hosts of 'The Show' announced that (G)I-DLE won first place, the members looked really shocked.

Soon after, one of the members YUQI started crying, and all the other members also looked quite emotional. After the members of (G)I-DLE thanked everyone, they performed their song 'LATATA'.

'LATATA' has a catchy melody, which is based on a fusion genre of house music and reggaeton―a Moombahton trap genre.

The memorable hook that repeats 'LATATA' especially makes the song addictive to listen to.
