[SBS Star] Korean Celebrities Commemorate the 2018 Inter-Korean Summit

Korean celebrities left a commemorative message for the 2018 Inter-Korean Summit held today.

On April 27, the historic meeting of North Korea's current leader Kim Jong-un and President Moon Jae-in of South Korea is held on the southern side of the Demilitarized Zone. Since the meeting possibly produces a peace agreement that ends the Korean War (1950-1953), the public is highly interested in the meeting of the two.

Moreover, the last meeting of the leaders from North Korea and South Korea happened in 2007, and it makes the meeting of leader Kim and President Moon more significant.

Several Korean celebrities responded to the joyful news by giving a message about the event to the public.

Actor Jung Woo Sung, for instance, left a video on his social media account on April 19, saying, "The slogan of the 2018 Inter-Korean Summit is peace for the start of new beginning." He continued, "The meeting of the two summits gives us a chance to unite and harmonize as people of Korea. I sincerely hope the meeting leads to have peace between the two countries."

In addition to Jung Woo Sung, actor Jang Keun Suk released a short video as well. He noted, "I think the start of the two countries' collaboration for the '2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic & Paralympic Games' led to have this remarkable meeting. I hope people standing in the middle of Korea's peace support the event."

Besides two actors, actress Kong Hyo-jin and LeeTeuk of K-pop boy band Super Junior left messages on their social media accounts.

With a short video, Kong Hyo-jin said, "I have seen various films and dramas related to the division of Korea. They were all about people from two Koreas building relationships yet falling apart at the end." She ended, "From the meeting, I hope two Koreas build an everlasting friendship, and greater films and dramas are produced."

LeeTeuk left a concise, cheerful message on his social media account. He noted, "When I saw K-pop artists performed in North Korea in recent days, I was so touched by seeing two Koreas getting into one nation. I hope the meeting makes two Koreas actively exchange their cultures and music."
