[SBS Star] Gong Yoo Raises Awareness of the Importance of Helping Children in Need

Korean actor Gong Yoo has participated in the 'UNICEF Team' recruitment campaign to help children around the world.

On March 21, Gong Yoo's management agency Soop Entertainment stated that after Gong Yoo has been named as a special ambassador for the UNICEF(United Nations Children's Fund) Korea in 2013, he has been actively taking part in various activities in order to improve the living conditions of children.

The activities included visiting Cambodia to meet Cambodian children, participating in the emergency aid campaign for Nepal's earthquake, and many more. To recruit members for the 'UNICEF Team', he sent out an encouraging message to the public.

The actor said, "The devastating state of children suffering from extreme poverty, disease, war and natural disaster is not only seen in movies and dramas. It's the reality that many children are facing, and they have to withstand every day."

He added, "If you become a member of the 'UNICEF Team' with me, you can make a difference to these children." The recruitment for this 'UNICEF Team' is a campaign that started this January by UNICEF Korea to make children around the world to pursue their dreams without losing their hopes and smiles.

Meanwhile, Gong Yoo is currently in the process of reviewing his next project after his hit drama 'Goblin' in the end of 2016.
