From 2005, when he starred in the popular TV series 'My Lovely Sam Sun' he started to rise to the stardom, then in January 2017 with two movies 'Confidential Assignment', and 'The Swindlers' he gained a surge in popularity.
He broke the stereotype of 'Actor for dramas only', and gained a foothold in the movie industry. The 37 years-old actor, Hyun-bin fits well into the saying that actor's most charm comes out in his 30s. Currently busy with his next movie 'Rampant'(2018), he did an interview with a beard on his face.
He said, "I just really liked the movie itself, and there were a few things I needed to challenge myself such as shooting it in overseas with an actress from a different culture. Also, most of the staff members were foreigners as well. But I overcame all that hurdles and finished well. I was very proud."
He said, "It was the biggest hit movie thus far. After shooting that movie, I've decided to work with the same film director, Kim Seong Hoon. Although I don't take much attention on the result of the movie's popularity when it comes to choosing my next works, I felt more comfortable as I had more choices to choose from."
He also told the interviewer why he's not participating in other activities as an actor.
During the interview, the actor also revealed how re-watches his previous works once in a while. He said, "When I receive an offer to shoot a drama, I re-watch my previous works. I try to fix things that don't look good or bad habits that I do on the screen. I don't watch all of the episodes, just a few ones."
