[SBS Star] Baek Z Young Says She Never Considered Divorce Despite Facing Jung Suk Won's Lowest Point

Singer Baek Z Young expressed unwavering love for her nine-year-younger husband, actor Jung Suk Won.

On November 27, Baek Z Young guested on singer K.WILL's YouTube show and talked about Jung Suk Won, her husband of 11 years.

"When we first met, I realized that Suk Won is much purer than I expected. He laughed a lot and was such a funny talker.", Baek Z Young remembered affectionately.

"He's so hilarious that everything he said made me laugh out loud. He was so witty and funny, and he still is. I grew more fond of him the more we dated."

"As you know, I'm a fiery person. But if I'm flame in a lighter, my husband would be a forest fire. That's the reason I married Suk Won. I loved that his personality was stronger than mine.", she added.
Baek Z Young said there was something she swore to herself when she got married.

"I deeply etched the classic wedding vow in my mind: for better or worse, we'll never be apart. I'll forever be on my husband's side. I won't leave him behind."

"Have you ever wanted to call it quits when you guys had a fight or were having a hard time?", K.WILL asked.

"Sometimes I feel like quitting the whole thing, but I've never considered divorce, not even for 0.1%.", Baek Z Young replied, "I vowed to myself to never break up with him no matter how much we fight."

She continued, "I think marriage is a sacred thing. When dating someone, you can go without revealing your lowest point. It might lead to a breakup if that lid opens."

"When married, however, you can't avoid showing your lowest point to your spouse. It happens 100%. In this case, you can't break up because of that since you're married."
"I'm not saying that divorce should never be an option; you should seek divorce if things are too difficult. But deciding to divorce is far more difficult than deciding to stay married, in my opinion.", Baek Z Young remarked.

"When you marry, you and your spouse are a team.", she added, "Suk Won and I tell each other that there is camaraderie between us. I'll marry my husband again if I'm born again."
Meanwhile, Baek Z Young and Jung Suk Won married in June 2013 and welcomed their daughter, Ha-im, in May 2017.

In 2018, Jung Suk Won was sentenced to ten months of jail time and suspended for two years for illegal drug use.

The actor returned to acting job in April this year through a play titled, 'Will You Marry Me?' (literal translation).
