According to Nielsen Korea, the latest episode of SBS's 'Jungle Bob 2 - Caribbean Bob' aired on the 24th, achieved a household viewership rating of 3% and a target demographic ('20-49 viewership' based in the metropolitan area) rating of 1%, making it the number one rated entertainment program across all networks, including terrestrial, comprehensive, and cable channels for the second week in a row. The peak minute rating soared to 4.4%.
In the episode, actor Ryu Soo-young successfully caught a massive wahoo after a 40-minute intense struggle, securing essential ingredients for his team. Lifting the 1-meter-long wahoo, Ryu expressed, "I wish it were a bit bigger, but I'm still happy we caught it. The kids are going to love this," as he finished preparing it on the spot.
Chef Yoon Nam-no's excitement was palpable, having dreamed of encountering wahoo in the Caribbean. He couldn't take his eyes off the wahoo Ryu had caught, beaming like a child. Yoon remarked, "I think having fresh fish is crucial. We should have either a kingfish or a wahoo," reflecting his anticipation from the pre-meeting. His joy was even more profound upon seeing the catch.
Yoon then performed an impromptu wahoo disassembly show and served up wahoo tartare and sashimi with his homemade seasoned soy sauce. He shared, "This soy sauce was prepared in case we had nothing else to mix with rice and vegetables." Ryu tasted the tartare and exclaimed, "This is incredibly delicious," while Lee Joon humorously devoured his plate, eliciting laughter.
The highlight of the broadcast was Chef Yoon Nam-no's '800,000 Won Jjamppong,' which became a hot topic. Upon seeing the luxurious jjamppong made with crayfish and lamb, Ryu Soo-young was astonished, "How much is this worth? It should go for about 800,000 won, right?" Yoon tasted the broth and expressed satisfaction, "No need for seasoning. It's perfect." After trying the final jjamppong soup, Ryu praised, "Taking a big bite of lobster makes you feel like 'I've lived a good life this time'."
Meanwhile, Kim Ok-bin and Lee Joon ventured into the deep sea, 20 meters below, to hunt lionfish, known for their venomous spines. Using spears, they managed to catch lionfish amidst the tension. On their way to a new spot, they even encountered a humpback whale, a rare sight with only a 1% chance of sighting, offering a unique thrill.
The Caribbean culinary adventure of Ryu Soo-young, Kim Ok-bin, Lee Joon, and Yoon Nam-no, 'Caribbean Bob,' airs every Thursday night at 9 PM.
