Unseasonable late-summer heat continued today (October 10), the second day of the Hangeul Day holiday weekend.

Under warm autumn sunlight, temperatures soared to 30.4°C (87°F) in Hayang-eup, Gyeongsan, and 30.3°C (87°F) in Dobong-gu, Seoul.

Tomorrow, daytime highs in Seoul and Gyeongju are forecast to drop to 27°C (81°F)—slightly lower than today—but will still hover 3 to 5 degrees Celsius above average, keeping it somewhat warm.

Showers are forecasted for inland regions from tomorrow afternoon into the evening.

Rainfall amounts are expected to range from 5 to 20 mm in inland areas of the central region excluding Seoul, and 5 to 10 mm in inland areas of the southern region. Jeju Island is expected to receive 5 to 40 mm of rain from tomorrow through the day after tomorrow.

Tomorrow's skies nationwide will be partly cloudy at times, and central inland areas may experience sudden gusts of wind and lightning during the showers.

Tomorrow morning's lows will start at 15°C (59°F) in Seoul and 20°C (68°F) in Busan, similar to or slightly higher than today. Daytime highs will climb to 28°C (82°F) in Daegu and Gwangju, maintaining a large temperature difference of more than 10 degrees Celsius between morning and day.

Inland areas nationwide will see more showers on Monday afternoon next week, followed by a round of nationwide rain on Tuesday.

After the rain, cold air is expected to move in, turning the weather chilly.
