Motorcycle Rider Collides with Wild Animal on Racing Circuit

On June 21, during a motorcycle race held at a racing circuit in Taebaek, Gangwon Province, an unexpected visitor suddenly darted onto the track during a pre-race practice run. It was a water deer.

A participant collided head-on with the deer with no time to avoid it, causing the rider to slide across the circuit. The race was immediately halted following the accident, and emergency rescue personnel were deployed to the scene.

Fortunately, the accident occurred during a practice run before the main race began, and because the rider involved was trailing behind others, it did not lead to any further casualties.
