Rain Nationwide Today, Temperatures to Plummet with Cold Winds Starting Tomorrow

Rain is forecasted nationwide today (November 5).

As a low-pressure system passes over the southern waters, heavy downpours of up to 40 mm are expected in South Jeolla, South Gyeongsang, and Jeju Island.

Caution is required as the southern coast and Jeju may experience gusty winds accompanied by thunder and lightning.

The greater Seoul area will see a relatively small amount of rain, around 5 mm.

This rain will gradually stop from the western regions in the afternoon.

Once the rain clears, cold air will move in, bringing back the cold weather.

Until today, temperatures will remain slightly above average with no major cold snap, but tomorrow, Friday, Seoul's morning temperature will stall at 3°C (37°F) and daytime temperature at 9°C (48°F), while Saturday's morning temperature in Seoul will drop to -1°C (30°F).

Looking at this morning's temperatures by region in detail, most areas will exceed 10°C (50°F) and will not be very cold.

Daytime temperatures in Seoul and Gwangju will reach 17°C (63°F), similar to yesterday.

Starting Friday, strong winds will blow nationwide, making the perceived temperature even lower.

Cold weather below seasonal averages is expected to continue until early next week.
