Man in 30s Arrested for Assaulting Heavily Pregnant Wife During Online Game Argument

A man in his 30s has been arrested by police for assaulting his heavily pregnant wife during an argument while playing an online game.

The Incheon Michuhol Police Station announced today (Nov. 2) that they have booked a man in his 30s, identified as A, without detention on charges of assault.

A is accused of assaulting his heavily pregnant wife, B, around 11:20 p.m. on October 28 at an apartment in Michuhol-gu, Incheon, which included slapping her in the face.

At the time, a 112 emergency report was filed stating that "crying sounds could be heard," and police who were immediately dispatched arrested A at the scene.

According to the police investigation, A committed the act of violence after getting into a verbal argument with B, who is due to give birth in January of next year, while playing an online game.

Immediately afterward, B was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, and it was reported that there are no abnormalities concerning the health of either the victim or the child.

To prevent the possibility of repeat offenses, police issued emergency temporary measures against A, including a prohibition on approaching within 100 meters of the victim.

Police plan to summon A again soon to conduct additional investigations into the specific details of the crime.
