A man in his 30s has been arrested by police for threatening his wife with a weapon at their home.
The Seoul Gangdong Police Station announced that they arrested a man in his 30s, referred to as A, at around 12:00 a.m. today (October 26) at his home in Amsa-dong, Gangdong-gu, Seoul, catching him in the act on charges of special intimidation.
It is reported that A got into an argument with his wife, went to sleep, and then committed the crime out of anger when his wife woke him up.
When police arrived following a report from the victim, A staged a suicide threat by standing on the railing of his fourth-floor home. He came down on his own after about 30 minutes of persuasion by the police.
Deeming the risk to be high, police exercised their authority at the scene to issue emergency temporary measures numbers 1, 2, and 3.
The emergency measures 1 through 3 consist of ▲ eviction and separation, ▲ prohibition of approaching within 100 meters, and ▲ prohibition of access via telecommunications, respectively.
However, it was reported that there are no previous 112 emergency call records related to A.
Police plan to investigate A and review the implementation of temporary measures as well as the application for an arrest warrant.
