Chuseok Calendar 56 Years Later Draws Attention... '9-Day Holiday' Without Using Annual Leave

As this year's Chuseok holiday nears its end, the Chuseok calendar for 56 years later in 2082 is drawing attention online.

While this year's Chuseok break lasted for four days including the weekend, the Chuseok holiday in 2082 is projected to last for nine days without having to use any annual leave.

A post titled "The Greatest Chuseok Holiday Ever" was uploaded to an online community.

The post included an image of a calendar showing the Chuseok holiday in October 2082, with the holiday running from October 5 to 7.

With October 8 designated as a alternative public holiday and October 9 being Hangeul Day falling right after, people will be able to rest for a total of nine days, including the weekends before and after.

However, this is calculated on the premise that the current public holiday and alternative holiday systems remain unchanged 56 years from now, meaning the actual Chuseok holiday in 56 years could change depending on future amendments to laws and regulations.

Netizens reacted with comments such as "Will I even be alive by then?", "I will be at an age where holidays won't matter in 2082", and "I just need to hang in there."
