Authorities are searching for a man in his 20s with an intellectual disability who has been missing for five days after leaving for practical training.
According to media reports on Sunday (August 2), the Seoul Geumcheon Police Station is searching for a 20-year-old surnamed Jang, who lost contact after leaving his home at 8:00 AM on July 29.
Jang, who attends a special education school for students with developmental disabilities, wandered off a different route while heading alone to his practical training location on the day he went missing and disappeared around Siheung-daero in Geumcheon-gu.
He had a crew cut and was wearing a short-sleeve T-shirt with black and white stripes and light blue knee-length jeans.
Police traced closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage and confirmed Jang's appearance near Yeouido Park in Yeongdeungpo-gu, but his whereabouts remain unknown as he does not have a mobile phone or credit cards.
Jang's guardian told Yonhap News, "Normally he would return after one to two hours, but this time he has not returned. He tends to walk along major roads, visit playgrounds or small parks, and avoid crowded places."
The Geumcheon Police Station has asked anyone who has seen Jang to actively report it.
