Couple Arrested for Secretly Filming Bathhouse and Selling Footage

A young Japanese couple has been arrested by police for dividing roles to film and sell illegal footage from a public bathhouse, according to reports.

Citing Kyodo News and other sources, the Kyoto Prefectural Police in Japan announced the arrest of a 35-year-old man, identified as A, and his 24-year-old wife, identified as B, both residents of Ishikawa Prefecture.

The couple is accused of illegally filming three women in the changing room of a bathhouse in Ishikawa Prefecture between May and July, and selling the videos online.

Police launched an investigation after discovering posts online where the couple was recruiting buyers in November of last year.

According to the police investigation, husband A had his wife enter the bathhouse to secretly film women, while he sold the resulting videos.

Wife B also admitted to secretly filming women's naked bodies.

Investigations revealed that the wife hid a smartphone in her pocket or placed a mini camera inside a bath basket to carry out the illegal filming.

Police estimate that the couple earned about 43 million won in total, selling clips of around 5 minutes for about 17,000 won each.
