Clear Weather on Hangeul Day with Wide Temperature Swings; Rain Expected Over Weekend

Today (the 9th), which is Hangeul Day, will see generally clear skies across the country.

With wide temperature swings expected, you will need to choose your attire carefully.

Rain is forecasted starting from the second day of the long weekend.

Rain will begin in the southern regions and Jeju on Saturday, and expand to southern Gangwon and the Chungcheong provinces by Sunday.

The expected rainfall for Saturday is around 5 to 20 mm.

Temperatures will gradually rise during the holiday period, significantly exceeding average seasonal levels by about 2 to 3 degrees Celsius.

Skies will remain clear nationwide until today, with fog lingering in inland areas until the morning.

Additionally, as the air remains dry mainly around inland areas and the Gangwon Yeongdong region, caution against fires is advised.

Morning lows are expected to be around 13°C (55°F) in Seoul, similar to or slightly higher than yesterday, while daytime highs will rise to 25°C (77°F) in Seoul, and 27°C (81°F) in Daegu and Gwangju.

After the holiday concludes, rain is forecasted nationwide in the early part of next week.

The weather will turn chilly again after the rain stops on Tuesday.
