Clear Weather for Hangul Day with Wide Temperature Swings; Rain Expected from Day After Tomorrow

The morning air was chilly today (the 8th), which marks Hallo, one of the 24 solar terms, but it became rather warm in the afternoon, making it difficult to choose what to wear.

Clear weather will continue tomorrow, Hangul Day, but with very large temperature differences between day and night, you will need to dress carefully for outings.

Rain is in the forecast starting the day after tomorrow.

It will be concentrated mainly in the southern regions.

As the high pressure system gradually moves eastward, warm and humid air from the south will flow in along its edge.

Because of this, rain is expected starting the day after tomorrow, mainly in Jeju and the southern regions.

The rain will begin in Gyeongnam on the morning of the day after tomorrow, expand to other southern regions from the afternoon through the night, and the expected rainfall for Saturday is about 5 to 20 mm.

Morning temperatures during the Hangul Day long weekend will rise slightly more.

They will exceed normal average temperatures by about 2 to 3 degrees Celsius.

However, the daily temperature range will still remain wide at more than 10 degrees Celsius.

Tomorrow will be clear, though some fog will linger in inland areas until the morning.

In addition, the air will be dry in inland areas and the Gangwon Yeongdong region, so you must take good care to prevent fires during outdoor activities.

Morning lows will be similar to or slightly higher than today, with Seoul starting at 13°C (55°F), while daytime highs will rise significantly, reaching 25°C (77°F) in Seoul and 27°C (81°F) in Daegu and Gwangju.

On Sunday, the Hangul Day long weekend, the rain will expand to southern Gangwon and the Chungcheong regions, and after the holiday ends, rain will fall nationwide early next week.

After the rain stops, the weather is expected to turn chilly again.
