Jobkorea, an AI and data-based HR tech platform, announced on October 8 that job postings by large enterprises in the semiconductor and display sectors increased by 102% in the third quarter of this year compared to the same period last year.

This figure includes postings by affiliates and subsidiaries of large conglomerates. The cumulative view count for these postings also rose by 64%.

In particular, job openings for experienced professionals at major semiconductor companies surged 157% year-on-year, significantly outpacing the growth rate for entry-level positions (55%).

Jobkorea interpreted this trend as companies placing greater emphasis on securing workforce ready to be deployed immediately for practical tasks amid soaring demand for AI memory.

Hiring activities were also brisk in other industries.

Job postings by large enterprises in the logistics and transportation sector increased by 130% compared to the same period last year.

This appears to be driven by an expansion in hiring for on-site personnel, such as fulfillment centers and delivery staff, primarily led by e-commerce logistics companies.

In addition, job postings increased in sectors such as pharmaceuticals and biotechnology (58%), construction (37%), and automobiles, shipbuilding, steel, and aviation (19%).

By job category, demand for semiconductor-related personnel was distinct.

Among the cumulative large enterprise job postings through the third quarter of this year, openings for semiconductor engineers increased by 55%, outpacing the overall growth rate.

Postings for AI/ML (Machine Learning) engineers (50%) and process engineers (39%) also saw sharp increases.

Conversely, job openings for web developers, cloud engineers, and app developers decreased compared to last year.

A Jobkorea official said, "Jobkorea will actively support job seekers so they do not miss out on employment opportunities and can find the right jobs by creating synergy with family brands like Albamon and Jobplanet and advancing AI-powered matching services."
