Three men in their 20s have been forwarded to prosecutors in custody for brutally assaulting a man who told them not to urinate in public and robbing him of his belongings, including his smartphone and wallet.
The Seoul Yeongdeungpo Police Station announced that it has forwarded the three suspects in their 20s on robbery and injury charges for assaulting a man in his 30s, identified as A, and stealing his possessions.
At around midnight on September 24, the suspects attempted to urinate in front of the home of victim A in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, while under the influence of alcohol.
When A discovered this and intervened by telling them not to urinate in the street, the group reportedly punched and assaulted A multiple times.
Anticipating that A would report them to the authorities, the suspects also forcibly took A's smartphone and wallet.
Police investigations revealed that the group had no prior acquaintance with victim A.
According to police, A subsequently walked to a nearby convenience store covered in blood to ask for help.
The store clerk, upon seeing this, called the police, stating, "The victim is bleeding heavily and begging for help."
Police officers dispatched to the scene analyzed CCTV footage and located the suspects nearby, arresting them on emergency grounds.
The police stated, "Due to concerns over the destruction of evidence and flight risks, the suspects were placed under arrest and forwarded to prosecutors."
